Cool Cartography Links

As an excellent starting point for cartography on the web, I suggest Oddens' Bookmarks. Tens of thousands of cartography related links.

Some of my personal favorites:

• Raven Maps: Gorgeous maps of the US and world.

• Redtrails.com: providing accurate trails data for a variety of modern software platforms - and developed and maintained by a student of mine!

• Maps & Prints. Also a commercial site but some good screen savers!

• The Mapping Sciences Institute of Australia (whose website I used to edit - now edited by a former student of mine!)

• The Department of Geography and Land Studies, Central Washington University. My new home.

• The Department of Geography, University of Idaho (which includes a cartography degree).  My old alma mater.

• Amazon.com - the best bookstore.  You name it, they can get it (almost).

• The School of Spatial Sciences at Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Australia.  Offering degrees in cartography, surveying, and GIS. An old home.
