We will meet at 8:30 at the parking lot at Manastash (see below map).
This hike will serve to wrap up the physical geography of Kittitas County. On top, we will discuss the biology, geology, soils, hydrology, and their interactions with human beings.
Writeup: After returning to CWU, you will complete a writeup of what you saw. The sooner you do this, the better - write while your memory is fresh! This writeup will be a compilation of everything you have learned about the valley this quarter. Answer the question "how has the physical geography of Kittitas County influenced the people here?" Be sure to focus on the physical geography, not the people. Make it 2.5-3.5 pages, include an introduction (lead in paragraph) and summary/conclusion (wrap up paragraph). Double spaced, 12 point font, 1 inch margins. This MUST be typed - no hand-written material will be accepted during this course (except in-class work and field notes). Sketches/maps/photos/diagrams/etc may not be part of the 2page limit, although these items can supplement your writeup if you wish.

Some comments on the map: the School is Damman, and Uptanum Road may well be Damman Road to the east of the Yak(depends on whether you believe MapQuest or the local phone directory map).
